N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) provides cysteine, one of the key amino acids the body needs to produce glutathione.

Glutathione is produced naturally throughout the body and plays an important role in antioxidant defence and normal cellular protection.

But glutathione isn't made from cysteine alone.

That's why we've paired 1,200 mg of NAC with 300 mg of Glycine — another amino acid required for glutathione synthesis — and added the trace minerals Selenium and Molybdenum.

The result is a simple but intelligently designed formula providing nutritional support for:

Why NAC?

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is a stable form of the amino acid cysteine.

Cysteine is particularly important because it is one of the three amino acids the body uses to manufacture glutathione, alongside glycine and glutamate.

Glutathione is found throughout the body and is involved in maintaining normal cellular antioxidant defences.

Why add Glycine?

Because glutathione requires it.

The body makes glutathione from three amino acids:

Cysteine + Glycine + Glutamate → Glutathione

Providing NAC supplies cysteine. Adding glycine provides another of the essential building blocks required for glutathione synthesis.

Rather than simply increasing NAC further, our formula provides both NAC and Glycine.

Why Selenium?

Selenium is an essential trace mineral and a component of several important antioxidant enzymes.

In particular, selenium is required for the normal function of glutathione peroxidase, part of the body's natural antioxidant defence system.

That makes selenium a logical partner in a formula designed around glutathione support.

Why Molybdenum?

Molybdenum is required by several enzymes involved in normal metabolic processes.

One of these is sulfite oxidase, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of sulfur-containing compounds.

Because NAC is a sulfur-containing compound, molybdenum provides complementary nutritional support within the formula.
